Blizzard Beach is one of two water parks at Walt Disney World. It is located on the southern side of the resort, very close to Animal Kingdom. Opened in 1995, the theme is that of a ski resort that has been hit by a freak snow storm.
There are two main sections to Blizzard Beach: the Ski Patrol training area and the main park. There are also two separate wave pools and lazy rivers.
The main section of Blizzard Beach contains most of the major attractions, including Summit Plummet, Slush Gusher, and Teamboat Springs. The Ski Patrol area is home to Toboggan Racers and Tike’s Peak (a smaller play area for little kids).
